Philosophy

Educational Program

Community Christian School offers a superior academic foundation in the context of a loving Christian environment. The kindergarten, elementary and secondary school programs emphasize the development of the total student: emotional, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual. All subject matter is taught from a Christian perspective within an atmosphere of Christian love and understanding. The educational program at Community Christian School provides the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to enable each student to serve as a citizen of God's kingdom.

Goals

To nurture the students' faith and to encourage the development of character qualities that reflect the fruit of God's Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control) so that the students' lives will be marked by humility, generosity, compassion, respect, love of wisdom, love of justice, obedience, and responsibility.

To demonstrate that all of creation is interrelated in Christ by increasing the students' knowledge, understanding and appreciation of creation, by promoting the doctrine of Christian stewardship, and by assisting students to understand their role in extending Christ's dominion over creation.

To develop the students' individual talents and to promote their creative and aesthetic abilities so that they will grow to their full potential of productivity in adulthood and glorify God in all their endeavors.

To develop the students' judgment so they can understand and evaluate the present culture in light of God's Word in order to recognize what will bring Him glory.

To promote the concept of Christian care and concern for others while teaching the value of the individual in Christ.
