Looking back, I realize what a blessing my CCS education was. At the time, I didn’t fully understand how much it would shape me, but God has used that foundation in unbelievable and wonderful ways. CCS, while amazing academically, is more than just a school. It is a community that invests in students’ minds and hearts, preparing them for whatever, wherever, and whenever God calls them. I am so grateful for the teachers who poured into me and for the experiences that continue to influence my life today.

I graduated from CCS in 2021 after attending kindergarten through 12th grade. In those years, I enjoyed the community that CCS provided, from my peers to the teachers. One of the most influential teachers--apart from my dad--was Dr. Bouck. She supported my curiosity in her science and math classes and continues to encourage me even today. In addition to academics, I learned through many a Winter Expedition that helping others is one of the greatest callings we receive.

After graduating from CCS, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying Mechanical Engineering. At UAB, I had the amazing opportunity to get involved in Epilepsy research. Our research explored different methods to localize the part of the brain responsible for starting seizures. This research led us to present at the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. Traveling for this conference was both exciting and humbling. It was my first time presenting research on an international stage, and I was amazed at how something we had worked on in the lab could contribute to a global conversation about medicine and engineering.

Outside of academics, I enjoy running, which helps me stay connected with my track star brother, and baking an unhealthy amount of bread and desserts to balance out the exercise.
